I read half way through and finally asked myself why am I continuing to read this book that isn't very good anyway? I do not like it when authors like this throw around abuse so flippantly. They have obviously never been in an abusive situation, it leaves lasting scars and a person does not just recover from it in a few days because they found a magic sword. It was also a bit hard to follow the writing, there was not enough set up or explanation to understand what was happening to the characters and why, you just did not like them. I am usually a fantasy fan but this was not very well written, pretty unbelievable and I did not really like any of the characters. Seemed to have a good premise but it did not reach potential.Product details

A great book for all who read it, not just younger ones. I am a grandma and just loved the story something in this reached my heart. Mr. Leckman did a outstanding job taking you into this new world. Thanks so much.
J.R. Leckman captures you in this excellent book. It transports you a another world and you can relate to the characters. You feel like you're there. I read it in one day and then I bought Pursuit which is the second book in the series (and is just as good as Inheritance). I can't wait to eat the next installment of this series. This was a very interesting book. Sometimes we feel that something is different and not altogether 'light' about our families. Kimberly explores that feeling...and it is quite a ride. Beloved by her Grandfather, a world famous Fantasy writer, join her as she explores the workings of his mind and alternate world.

First off, it takes a lot to get me involved in a book. I like fantasy movies but had never read a fantasy novel. I get bored easily with novels so I was worried about that when I first downloaded this novel to my . That was not the case with The Legend of Kimberly Inheritance. I was drawn in immediately. The characters are relatable because of the way that J.R.Leckman develops them and their emotions; and Auviarra seems like a real world because of the descriptive nature of the writing. I found myself getting very attached to the characters, not only because Kimberly shares my name and my spirit. Like Kimberly, I hated her father and loved the friends she met in Auviarra who help her find her way. My heart was racing when the battle ensued in the Wizard's Forest and I shed a tear when Kimberly did. If you want to get lost in a great book I highly recommend The Legend of Kimberly Inheritance!! I am reading the second book now, and it is just as good as the first! I cannot wait for the third!
I didn't want to put it down and the ending makes you want to rush to the next book. Beautifully written with a nice slice of twists and turns. Interesting characters. I suspect this would make a great film.
I must admit the cover grabbed me first but the story inside kept me glued to my . It's a true fairy tale with all the bad and the good of the original tales not the Disney version we so love today. The story begins with a tale of abuse by the most trusted and builds from there, so if you're going to read this tale to the younger set be ready to explain, but, (spoiler alert) the bad ones get it in the end, well maybe! As is always the case in all good stories it ended way to soon and the second part is the only other one out right now and after reading this I hope you'll feel like I do and pray that Mr. Leckman can just write faster!
The Legend of Kimberly Book I, Inheritance, by J.R.Leckman is a fantasy/adventure story about the Granddaughter of an author who has written fantasy books about a land called Auviarra. Upon the death of her Grandfather, Kimberly inherits her Grandfathers estate. What she didn't expect was to discover his stories are true and to inherit his magic and a sword called Willow. Kimberly lands in Auviarra where time and life is measured differently than on earth. Believing that her Grandfathers books were just fairy tales, Kimberly soon learns otherwise. There is lots of action and adventures with amazing characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I am beginning Book II, Pursuit.
